To Be a Woman is To Be a Queen
Women are very vital and essential being in the society. Even though
they have been looked down upon for ages because of the stereotypical image the
people from years ago has placed on them. Ridiculous gender-roles has been the
sole reason why discrimination on women is still being displayed as years go
by. So many opportunities has been discarded because of these stereotypes. But
things are slowly changing because people are starting to get sick and tired of
how others still keep on holding on to the foolish beliefs they have.
The thought of abiding to gender-roles has been imprinted in our minds
since the beginning of time. When we were just little kids, we are to believe
that girls can cry while boys can’t, or that girls wear skirts and boys wear
pants, or that boys get to play outside whilst girls play inside with their
dolls or how boys can be angry and girls are submissive. It is expected that
kids so young, have to think that they have to act like how others expect them
to act because of these stereotypes and if you don’t, you are ridiculed and
made fun of. Since we were just little kids, we have been put into these labelled
boxes, in the same categories, we were treated as products and it creates the
idea of segregation at a very young age and forces children into a particular
lifestyle. Gender-roles have a major contribution on how women are being
treated poorly, we are painted as someone who is weak and dependent. We are
painted as someone who can’t fend for themselves and docile. But we have shown
that we are more than what those stereotypes painted us as.
There isn’t a single aspect of life where people can completely escape
from gender roles or stereotypes. Men and women are both affected differently
and some gender roles are more harmful than others. Gender-based violence is a
common effect of this stereotypes and as expected most of the victims are
females, women. We are always seen as the target because we are labeled as
vulnerable, weak. As a result of these unfair treatment, various movements have
been created in order to at least put a stop to these situations and finally
let our voices be heard. One voice may not be loud enough for the higher ups to
take drastic measures but a voice of many might. Together, us women will rise
with our head held up high and we will show that we are not the underdogs and
that we can be our own person without their say.
On the National Woman’s Month this March, we celebrate the solidarity of
women helping each other to stand up against the judgement, discrimination and wrongful
treatment we face every single day. We celebrate the unity and diversity of
each and every women, and our allies.
“If all of the queens looked exactly
the same, the world would be really lame. So to all of the queen every race,
shape and size, be who and what you really want cause you are a price.”

I like how the words you used were perfectly explained the hardships of women at such a young age. I agree with the message, it was inspiring and very powerful. Also the quote at the end was great! Good Job!
