Stronger Together

When you get knocked down your immediate response will be to rise back up again. Or on some occasions, you just stay there waiting for the time to show others that yes, they may have knocked you down but you will get back up, stronger than what you were before. The things that knock you down will only make you stronger.

The whole world is currently facing a pandemic. The COVID-19 pandemic that changed the way we run our lives. We are now living in a new normal style where everything went to a 360. Every aspect of our lives was affected, jobs, education, you name it. So the question is how will we get back up now that we are severely affected by this pandemic?

Our country, the Philippines have been through a lot from the past years. Take the Typhoon Yolanda that happened in 2013 as an example. Many Filipinos were devastated. The destruction that the typhoon left made it look like our country will not be able to recover from it. Yet, we proved it wrong and we got back on our feet with a smile on our faces after healing. The Marawi siege that occurred recently. It was a bloody battle and it looked really tiresome because it was. A lot of damage was left behind after we claimed victory against the Maute group, yet our brothers and sisters in Mindanao where the siege started still got up and faced the world with a positive outlook. So it is no question that we will win this battle with the COVID-19 in no time.

Our situation as of now, makes it seem like we are in a losing battle. Given the fact that we are lacking resources and the number of cases recorded just keep on increasing every day. But if we keep on being positive, not in a corona way, we will make it through. But the harsh reality of this is that we still have a long way in battling COVID-19. If we keep on disregarding the safety protocols that the Department of Health implemented for the safety of all, the efforts and hardships of our frontliners will be put to waste.

We have come a long way in dealing with the pandemic and I, as an individual, am hoping that each and one of us have realized that with our cooperation to help battle this virus, we will go back to our normal life. We should not let the new normal way of living reign forever. We should follow the safety protocols implemented by the Department of Health in order to put a stop to this virus.

We are Filipinos, we are known to stay strong despite the challenges that comes in our way. We have managed to fight for our land and stand back up after a storm with a smile. We can make our country grow and make it much better and stronger if only we unite as one.
