Nothing is Eternal

Are people even aware that probably 30 or 50 years from now, the once habitable place we call earth can be dead? That the continents may sink because of the continuous rising of the sea level caused by the melting of glaciers. That animals are at risk of being extinct, and some are already extinct. That forests are decreasing because of the massive wildfires that are happening.

Climate change is an issue that has been brought up years ago yet we fail to give enough recognition on the severity of it as the years go by. As a result, the current generation are suffering and we can’t even begin with the “future generation” if we have one to begin with. We have yet to find a way to slow down the process and put a stop to this issue.

We are fighting for our home. Our home that is currently on fire because of the different human activities from the past years. The increase of carbon dioxide emission in the ozone from the burning of fossil fuels. The fast urbanization of the once land masses filled with trees because of the increasing growth of population. It took us some time to realize that what we are doing to mother nature will come back to us.

As an individual, you can be a part of the solution. That is if you chose to stop being ignorant about this issue. You have to panic and be scared because our house is burning. We have to panic and be scared for what is to come. We have countless of simple solutions we can do to give our contribution in saving our home. Give recycling as an example, it is efficient and nature friendly. The same with reusing, proper waste disposal, avoiding the use of single used plastics, practicing to live life in an eco-friendly way. We have to avoid buying unnecessary things to help lessen the garbage each year.  Encouraging your family, friends, and peers to be a part of the solution. Participating in rallies and protests concerning our environment can also help in order to let our voices be heard and to let others be woke to the fact that we have to do something.

Promises that climate change will be solved is not enough. We want to have a tangible solution that can actually help. We don’t want words that will later be chewed and swallowed. We don’t want promises that will be forgotten. We want action. It can start with me, or you. It can start with us.
